A young company Lingmo International has introduced a new device that provides simultaneous interpretation literally “right in the ear” – one-One microphones. In many ways, the device resembles the “Babylonian fish” from the fantastic work “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.”
Currently, One2One “owns” eight languages - English, Japanese, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Chinese. Specialists of Lingmo International solved many problems with the nuances of translation, in particular taking into account slang and dialects.
One of the main features of One2One is that there is no need to connect via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to the smartphone. The gadget functions as a separate device.
The translation takes from 3 to 5 seconds. To translate the desired phrase One2One communicates via 3G Internet with the base server represented by the IBM Watson supercomputer.
The cost of the device is 179 dollars. Delivery of the first copies will begin as early as next month.
